PS 25 - Adjusting the Scale Position

This tutorial is not about the Complete Ruler tool, it is only about Positioning the Ruler location.

01. Any new document you create by default the ruler starts from top left.

02. The coordinates will tell you the position of the cursor. If you move the cursor on the canvas, you will notice a thin line on both ruler showing the coordinates.

If you open the info panel you will see the coordinate position under the 'Track cursor coordinates'

03. Even though the ruler extends beyond the canvas, the 'Track cursor coordinates' value displays only if your mouse cursor is inside the canvas.

04. You can move the Starting position (0) to anywhere in the ruler.

Move your cursor to the top left edge of the scale, click and drag into the canvas. you will see your cursor changes into a cross hair. Once you release the mouse, the new position takes place.

05. If you move the mouse cursor before the value zero it will display a negative value in the info panel.

06. Adjusting the scale position also changes the grid position

07. To reset the scale to its original position, double-click on the top left.
