Fortkochi in HDR

Recently went to fort cochin Island, saw these in the fisherman's basket. Last time twice i went to this island but never tried anything on HDR. This time most of the pictures i took in high dynamic, just want to see how they look.

These pictures are shot handheld and no tripod were used. Since iam taking in different exposure i had to steady my hand. Surprisingly i didn't shake.

For HDR, tripod is always recommended.

The two version comparison below.
Jpeg was actually a RAW file (but nothing was tweaked). I just exported with the settings 'as shot'.
HDR was actually with 3 stop.

Even though Jpeg was shot with RAW, it can capture only what the camera sees based on your settings, and you can only adjust the exposure value later.

But capturing the same image with different stops will give you more flexibility in the post-process. Combining all three will give you wide-range of depth and clarity in the image, which a naked eye cannot see.

HDR Experience: St.Augustine Church

This was a trip we (with my friend) made recently to goa. When we went to this place, the first thing came into my mind was 'These will look beautiful in HDR'. I didn't have my tripod when i shot this. We were actually moving from place to place and most of the places don't allow tripods so i had to somehow manage without it, besides it was too bulky to carry. 

 

I had to find a right spot for a good picture, although i was not happy with the sky here. Since i shot this late afternoon and there was hardly any clouds visible.

Iam still learning the new tools and techniques to capture a proper HDR. Iam not there, but iam getting closer with every step i take.

 

HDR: Evening Sky

First attempt on HDR of the evening sky. I got some ghosting issues and some minor artifacts, since i wanted to try hdr for a long time i just gave it a shot and i like it so far and i might take some more pictures in future with a better clarity and lesser artifacts.

This was done with 8 stop exposure and no effects or sky replacement added on the sky, its just pure real sky.
